Every other day和the other day的区别你记住了吗?
英语词汇的搭配是我们学习的重点，也是难点。和其他不同的词汇搭配，往往有不同的意思。
Every other后面跟名词单数，常常是“其他的每一个…”的意思：
He has visited every other country in Asia except India.
他游遍了亚洲除印度以外的所有其他国家。
Every other girl except me is wearing jeans.
除了我，其他女孩都穿着牛仔裤。
但是，如果后面名词是表示时间的day, week等，
那么意思有所不同，是“每隔…”
I have a bath every other day.
我隔一天洗一次澡。
She visited him in hospital every other day.
她每隔一天去医院看他一次。
Trash is collected every other day.
垃圾每隔一天收集一次。
My mother changes the sheets every other week.
我妈妈每隔一周换一次床单。
The other后面加名词，一般是“两个中的另一个”：
One man was arrested, but the other one got away.
一人被抓住了，但另一人逃走了。
Here's one sock, but where's the other one?
这里一只袜子，但另一只呢？
The other后如果是表示时间的名词day，
意思也有变化，是“几天前，前些时候”：
She had her first heart attack the other day.
前几天她第一次心脏病发作。
I saw him in town the other day.
前些时候我在城里见过他。
The other day we had some visitors from USA.
几天前我们接待了一些美国客人。
